This is a picture I painted for my brother as a gift. Originally, he wanted it for his Birthday in November, but I was unable to do so... So instead, I painted it for him for Christmas. I finished it on Christmas day. *woot!*
Sorry that the image is so small... I suck with cameras sometimes... You can't make out all the details because of this. Maybe I'll try taking a better one sometime...
The original image size is 9.5"x31.25". The odd shape is because it needed to fit a frame (it's an awesome frame. Thick and medieval looking).
I had the hardest time with those dark clouds behind those tattered dragon wings. =\ I've redone them so many times, but I still feel like I need to do something to them... Anyway, my brother likes it, so I'm happy.
Artwork by me, Caylee. (acrylic paints on masonite board)
amazing! the dragon looks so detailed and terrifying. I sort of imagined you were just making a dragon when you mentioned it, but it's so cool you even added an epic scene/story! <3
This is epic great fun. I love all of the textures and the color range - purple and green and black look great together. Three cheers for making brothers happy!
The idea of two dark aspects going against each other is a concept that I have realized is not explored often enough. I like the execution in this in a way where it feels kind of neutral. At least for me, I don't feel automatically inclined to pick either one of the sides because it isn't something so direct as a good vs evil scenario.
Personally though, I'll vote for the zombie dragon and what might be a zombie army around it?
You honestly never cease to amaze me, Bezzalair. These are the kinds of things I can only dream about for the moment. You artwork always inspires me to push for the goal of making my creative ideas come to life even half as well as you can.
Still, zombie dragon. Awesome!
