Pookum Doll 4 (edited) by bezzalair Pookum Doll 4 (edited) by bezzalair
This guy is up for sale and can be found here: [link] -- SOLD! (wow, that was fast. xD) haha
**EDIT: I repainted the face because it bothered me (red panda style), so I had to retake pictures as well**

Iím still experimenting with different types of ears and long/short fur placements. The long fur on this one is around the head and belly (including the underside of its tail). So far, in my opinion, I think I like my first dollís long ears best, still I thought Iíd try out the bear ears and see how it would look.

Okay, so I finally decided to time myself with a stop-watch timer while making one of these Pookums and Iíve discovered that it takes me about 7 hours to complete a doll. Before, I decided to charge only $55 for these guys, and dividing that by my 7 hours, Iím working minimum wage for approximately $7.85 an hour. Thatís not even including the materials that Iíve bought for it. So, discovering the time it takes to make one, Iíve decided to raise the price more to cover my time and materials put into them. I will now charge $70 for each Pookum. Sorry, but thatís how itís going to have to be.

Art doll made by me, Caylee.
(faux fur, crayola air dry clay, acrylic paint, glaze, buttons...)

Not sure if rude or tacky to announce this but I bought this little bugger. I saw it in my deviations and thought :la: PERFECT! and made my way to get it before it was snatched up by someone else. Its my favorite colors and a red panda is one of my most favorite animals! Plus you are one of my favorite artists so I didn't want this little guy to slip by ;) I hope I didn't come off creepy or rude but I really wanted to let you know I will give this fella a great home and take very much good care of it!

(ps, this took a lot of guts to say. wasn't sure if it would make me seem stalkerish or creepy. Just a big fan of your work!)

Oh, it was you?! xDDD That's so neat!

Aww, you're not creepy. I find it flattering!
It's actually quite encouraging to know that others out there like my work. :) Thank you.

(btw, this doll has got to be the fastest thing I've sold after putting it up for sale! xDDD)

hmm this one doesn't seem as good as the other 3, the first 2 have more realistic looking fur, the third's fur seems more like this fourth's fur but the third's was still two toned

this one looks less like a weird little animal and more like a synthetic cuddly toy

the tail doesn't look quite as attached to the body as the first 2 either

ehh just incase you wanted criticism, if you didn't then aw shit

It's ok, I knew this had flaws (the other 3 did too) but hopefully I'll get it down soon. I'm aware of all the problems, and I think after making this one, I prefer to have the fur to be more natural looking (and longer), But perhaps it's all a matter of opinion (I mean, this got sold not too long after I posted it.).
Thanks for the criticism. :)
