Patch Sculpture by bezzalair Patch Sculpture by bezzalair
Meh, I'm not the greatest sculpt-artist, but what-cha gonna do? I'm learning. =P

anyway, here's my Patch sculpture I did in ceramics class (from the Death Chicken Comic I'm working on). this has gotta be the biggest sculpture I've ever done (again, I forgot to take down size measurements so I'll have to come back and edit this when I get him back from my teacher).

anyhoo, yeah. I sculpted this guy hollow (that's a first for me also) and struggled a lot. And, when I brought him home to paint him, his tail fell off so I paper-mache-ed him a new one and it looks great! :)

Oh, and the only reason why he's by DC's eggs is because I used them as a support to hold up his body.

Artwork is (C) to me, Caylee
(high-fired clay, paper mache, spray paint, acrylic paint)

I don't mean to be annoying by commenting on an old piece from a while ago (over 2 years!) but this is still one of the awesomest things I've ever seen and I just wanted to say it. Great design for the character and awesome sculpture. :3

I'm happy to hear you enjoy it that much~~ :3 but I'll never sculpt something big and hollow like that again! it was a pain in the butt! :stab:

haha, well it's not like I can anymore either. =P I made this in a ceramics art class, where all the clay and fire-burners are. :\ there's no way I can afford that stuff.
so, instead, I'll work with super sculpey. :) they'll be smaller, but that's ok because I have limited space in my house. ^^;

have a sketch book and do lots of thumb-sketch-doodle ideas. that's how I get a lot of my art ideas on an art block.
