These are up for sale on my etsy (look for more pictures): [link]*ALL SOLD* One of the big ones have been bought my my sister. I'm flattered~ Two of the smaller ones have been reserved by the requester who asked me to make these dolls.
Honestly, I like how the larger ones turned out... The only downside to them was that the gold paint that I painted on them, totally didn't like the material so its shine faded out tremendously. so I went back over a few parts of it and touched it up with some yellow and white paint giving the illusion of a shine. *note to self: don't use winter fleece material to paint on*
1: Since you do not plan to make anymore, will you be releasing a pattern? I'd like to make one for myself.
2: Is there a reason why you used paint instead of embroidering the cloaks, or was it just an effort to save time and labor?
3: What did you use to make the faces? I think I could get a decent and similar effect on my own, but I'm curious to know what method you went with here since it looks particularly beautiful.
1: I've thought about it, but I decided not to because I was still thinking of using the pattern for other projects (altering it a bit). The dolls aren't that hard to make. I'm sure you can figure out a pattern for yourself. Their basic body looks like this: [link]
2: It was to save time and labor. >__>; I'm not a very patient person when it comes to projects. I have so many project-ideas I want to work on, spending too long on something drives me mad (Unless I'm super obsessed with it to do good craftsmanship). I'm sad that the paint didn't work very well on that material I used for the large dolls (winter fleece). The paint worked a lot better on the smaller dolls (flannel) showing its metallic-gold-goodness.
3: I sculpted the faces out of super sculpey clay (though I'm sure there are other clays out there as well that could work just as well)and glued it to the body.
